San Jose del Cabo, Baja California Sur. From next July 12th to 18th, the competition organized by the mexican National Commission for Physical Culture and Sports (CONADE) will be held on the beaches of the city, for the discipline of surfing.
The venues will be the beaches of Costa Azul, Zipper’s and Palmilla in San José del Cabo, it is estimated that jover 300 athletes from eleven states in the interior of the republic will be received for the surfing nationals. The event will be in the hands of the Los Cabos City Council and the Sudcalifornian Sports Institute (INSUDE).
Joel Castro and Rómulo Núñez, operational director and deputy director of sports infrastructure, respectively, presented the needs for the competition, among some points they highlighted tents in Palmilla and Costa Azul (Zippers), parking authorization in Costa Azul, lifeguards, internet, maritime surveillance, 24-hour security during competition days, garbage containers, buoys to delimit the competition area in the sea, public restrooms and an ambulance.
With the discipline of Surfing, Baja California Sur will be saying goodbye to the venues of the CONADE Nationals and considering that the team is conformed mainly by local surfers, the entity could add more medals and dominate the competition by being at home. It is presumed that the opening ceremony could be chaired by former athlete Ana Gabriela Guevara.
The authorities urge the general population, surfers and bathers to follow the instructions of the organizers of the CONADE Nationals, since during the days of competition there will be some restrictions concerning timing and parking areas.
